5) Service type: member
contacts the person they're interested in, matchmaker contacts member if they
think there is a match or other?
Our members have
the ability to email, instant message or talk to other members in our chat
rooms. When a member sends a message (email, IM or Flirt) it goes
straight to the member’s onsite inbox. That member is then notified by JDate’s
automatic system that they have a message waiting. If they choose to write
back, they simply “reply” and the message is sent back to the other member’s inbox,
etc. All member-to-member correspondence is done completely onsite so that
everyone can feel safe and remain anonymous until they choose to take it
further.
Another way members can
meet is through our unique Click feature, which lets members “click” Yes, No or
Maybe to other members’ profiles. All Clicks are anonymous until another member
clicks Yes back and then we notify both parties that they have a Yes-Yes match.
The rest is up to them – and they can email each other from there.
Most members find each
other use our Search feature, which allows them to narrow down their options by
selecting specific criteria like age, location, religious affiliation, how
often they keep kosher, if they go to temple, physical characteristics and
more.

Although JDate caters to all ages 18 and over, our largest group of members is
