Many yeshivot (jewish schools) now require parents to purchase “chesed dollars” or gift certificates to local establishments so the school can get a percentage donation from the store. For parents this can add up to a lot of dollars to spend for a family and people look to get rid of them.
The solution: Give it away. Next time you need to give someone a gift give them the gift certificate to the local Judaica store, gap or other appropriate store.
