Jew Central is trying to find out what makes a good Jewish dating site.
Based on your feedback we have launched a Jewish Dating section:
http://www.jewcentral.com/jewish_dating.html
We hope to incorporate some of your suggestions to make this area more informative. |

| I think the whole profile thing is going to die in a couple of years. Most profiles are badly written, completely unimaginative or dishonest. Looking into the future I see short video sequences of people talking to the camera or in groups with their friends in addition to maybe friends, coworkers and whoever else talking about the person. |

I dont think profiles will go away- they will just become one tool of many. The video idea is interesting and will also be one of the tools. The problem will then be that people will become actors...
Also people have a hard enough time picking a picture, i think the video will be a real ordeal. |

It doesnt have to be an ordeal. Actually, part of why picking a pic to post is such an ordeal is bec people are not choosing honest pics. Camera angle, lighting and photoshop effect a pic pretty dramatically.
If people were honest, a couple of takes is all it would need. The advantage to a short video is obvious as the first 5-10 mins of interacting and seeing a persons energy is when much of the clicking either happens or doesnt on any given date. A video would save alot of time. |

People would argue that posting a nice picture is honest, it's just showing you at your best and isn't that they way you'd always want to be shown.
I agree that a 5 minute video may be helpful but for picky people it will be easy to find minor flaws and annoyances in what they are watching... but then again i guess they would find it on the date also...
Also keep in mind some people don't interview well (nervous etc)... |

Jew Central is looking to start a jewish dating review section:
When looking at a jewish dating service now- what do you look for?
Here's some of the feedback we have so far:
1) Number of jewish members
2) religious affiliation ie orthodox, reform, chasidic
3) Price:
4) Features offered: chat etc. which features do you look for
5) service type: you contact the person you're interested in/matchmaker contacts you if they think there is a match
So what do you look for, we'll try to integrate it into our review. |

| Our sister site: Jewish Dating Review asks these questions and more to jewish dating sites in their "insider" articles. Feel free to suggest more questions. |
