| Are there some quality yeshivas that dont cost an arm and a leg? It seems that the better the school the higher the tuition. |

M,
Define what you mean by 'good'? In theory, that 'Good' is a relative term. I would like to think that every parent thinks that their kids school is 'good' otherwise they wouldn't send them there.
Tuition is a toughie. There is a lengthly thread on this board ('Paying Yeshiva Tuitions') about tuition and costing, just look for it.
Although I know that most school administrators can be hard-nosed about costs and schlorships, if you really think a school is best for your child, try to work with them on getting a scholarship - even if it means baring your soul and tax returns. |

| Breuers (Yeshiva Rabbi Shimshin Raphael Hirsch) is an excellent Yeshiva in Washington Heights. Its tuition is modest by almost any standard. The faculty are hard working committed professionals who provide a superior education in limudei kodesh and lachol. They inculcate wonderful middos in their charges. As a parent I couldn't be happier. They bus children in from the boroughs and the suburbs (Westchester in my case). Please feel free to write if you'd like to know more. |

Yonah, you are right good is different to each person but i'm talking universal goods that Nbander mentioned- good education both in secular and jewish subjects and middos. People would be fooling themselves if they think their school is good at all these unless they compare it with other schools. (I've heard some nice things about Breuers so Nbander I'm not referring to you.) i.e. someone playing basketball in their backyard with their friends may think they're great- but they haven't gone up against real competition...
Unfortunately, Nbander i'm looking for elementary schools and don't want to bus my child. What is a modest tuition? |
